ICAO AND FAA
Obelux Oy manufactures, designs and delivers ICAO and FAA compliant low-, medium-, and high-intensity LED aviation obstruction lights to all applications. Obelux’s aviation obstacle lights are in use in many different applications including wind turbines, telecommunication masts, power lines, tall buildings, bridges, stacks, weather masts, cranes, cell sites and airports.

Obelux designs LED aviation obstruction lights with a strong focus on reliability, industry-leading efficiency, and long service life. Decades of LED experience help us engineer high-performance products with low power consumption and low life-cycle costs.

Obelux personnel represents an extensive range of experts in different fields including electrical and mechanical engineers, optical engineers and software specialists, among others. Optics
Obelux has 20 years of experience in designing its own optical solutions used with LEDs which makes Obelux the most experienced LED based aviation obstruction light manufacturer in the world. Precise and optimized optics enable us to minimize unwanted light scattering, optimize power supply and consumption, and deliver the high-power light beam where needed.
Obelux’s vast optical “library” provides solutions to all different kind of aviation standards which vary country to country regarding the specified light beams.
Electronics & Mechanics
Obelux inhouse electronical and mechanical engineering is consisting of many experts with different backgrounds. In our line of business, the mechanical and electrical design requirements are among the most demanding due to the installation locations and the purpose of the lights. The lights are often installed on hard-to-reach locations on top of a wind turbine or a supertall radio tower where they should operate without any maintenance. This imposes rigorous requirements on the mechanical design, including the choice of materials, sealing solutions, environmental robustness, high wind speeds, vibration, and humidity. Electronics and power supply have to tolerate surges, lightning strikes, and years of use in constantly changing temperatures and humidity levels. These also have to withstand and pass demanding measurements and tests including EMC, surges, noise, vibration, luminous output, ingress protection, etc.
IoT, Modbus, TCP/IP
Obelux can be considered as a forerunner in bringing IoT into the fairly conventional aviation obstruction light industry. We have brought a full TCP/IP based aviation obstruction light system into the market in 2010, and the systems have been in use in the field since then. Obelux knowhow in TCP/IP, SNMP, Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP/IP is its own class thanks to the highly skilled individuals working at Obelux and constructing the Obelux eco-system of aviation obstruction lights.
Remote access to our systems offers significant advantages to our customers, who can plan their service visits, prepare trouble shooting, and check the system status remotely without the need to climb wind turbines or towers. In addition to remote monitoring, the Obelux system provides complete control of the aviation obstruction light system over Ethernet.

Certificates and Approvals
The Obelux product line follows tightly International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) guidelines and recommendations. In addition, Obelux products are tested and measured against various national standards. Obelux holds numerous product certifications from various countries, including Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transportation (MLIT), Germany’s Wasser Und Schifffahrtsverwaltung Koblenz (WSV), France’s Le Service technique de l’Aviation civile (STAC), among others.
